God arranged a meeting for us one day in 1996. Ghost writing for the director of Kansas Family Research Institute, then the Kansas affiliate for Focus on the Family, we were assigned to interview the Kansas hero of the month, Earnest Alexander of Youth Horizons.
The story wrote itself that day but the bigger story is still being written. We recognized immediately that God is at the center of Youth Horizons’ work and knew it was his desire for us to come alongside this organization in its mission to bring a message of hope to fatherless and at-risk children.
The organization has grown by leaps and bounds since that day. We continue to serve in many ways—sustaining brand identity, developing core messages and solid communication strategies, facilitating strategic planning, coaching individuals, planning and promoting events and fundraising.
Over the last 10 years, this ministry has gone from being a small mom-and-pop organization to a world-class Christian mentoring ministry. I do not say this to toot our own horn. It could not have been possible without God’s help and the Strategy Group. While they’re a full-service advertising and marketing firm, their greatest ambition is to help churches, ministries and non-profits accomplish their mission. Earnest Alexander
